Getting cold feet?

I don’t know about this barefoot running stuff. No, I’m kiddin’, but my thinking does continue to evolve. It’s 28 degrees out and the street is slightly damp. Just back. The soles of my feet were cold, maybe a little less so after the first half mile, but still borderline painful to the end. I’m thinking it may be impossible to run thru a Boston winter without some kind of thermal protection for the soles.
